Terms of sale.

The deal when you buy seeds from Might Seeds. I tried to write these like a human and not a contract. They still hold legally.

Who I am

Might Seeds is a personal seed-saving project run by one person in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I grow pepper plants indoors in tents and save seed from the varieties I like. I'm not a registered nursery or a commercial seed company.

What I sell

All prices are in Canadian dollars. Quantities are limited. Some packets are last-of-stock and that's noted on the listing.

How orders work

Browse, add to cart, check out. Stock drops the moment you submit, so two people can't claim the same last packet. Payment happens at checkout: credit or debit card via Stripe, PayPal, or e-transfer. All in Canadian dollars. I'll get an order notification and post your envelope within 5 business days of payment clearing.

Shipping

Canada only. Flat $4 Canada Post lettermail in a plain paper envelope, same price anywhere in the country. Free shipping over $15. Lettermail is untracked.

I don't do meet-ups or local pickup.

International? Outside Canada and want to try anyway? Email me and we'll figure something out. No guarantees on customs or delivery, and you'd cover any extra postage.

Refunds and lost packets

Lettermail is untracked, which means it occasionally goes missing. If your packet doesn't arrive after 3 weeks from when I posted it, email me. Claims must be made within 60 days of your order date, after that I can't verify what happened and the sale is final.

If you can't get any seeds in a packet to germinate after a fair shot (heat mat, fresh medium, three to four weeks of patience), email me. I'll work with you case by case. Default is a refund rather than a resend.

Less than 100% germination is normal. Plant a few extra. I don't refund for the odd seed that doesn't pop, that's just how peppers are.

Germination and biology

Pepper seeds are slow and fussy at the best of times. I store seed dry and dark and try to send clean seed, but I don't guarantee a specific germination rate. Plant a few extra.

I hand-pollinate when needed and try to keep clean between varieties, but crossing risk is non-zero. Pods you grow may look slightly different from mine. Any seed I save from outdoor-grown plants is labelled "open pollinated" because outdoor bees don't care what's on the plant tag.

Liability

Might Seeds is not liable for crop failures, weather damage, regional growing conditions, pet ingestion, or any indirect or consequential damages from growing the seeds I sell. If you need certified seed with germination guarantees, buy from a commercial supplier.

My total liability is capped at the price you paid for the seeds in question.

Returns of unused product

I don't accept returns of unused seed. Seed is a perishable agricultural product and once it leaves my packets I have no way to verify how it was stored. If something is wrong with the order I sent (wrong variety, damaged in shipping), email me before opening the packet.

Changes

I might update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top changes when I do. Orders placed before a change are governed by the version that was active at the time of the order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes go to the courts in Calgary.
